Greater Manchester Games

21st March 2017

On Tuesday 21^st March, 37 of our year 5 and 6 children ventured to sports city for the Greater Manchester Games to represent Trafford. The children had a great day out, watching the opening ceremony and then heading off to the various sites for their games. The hockey team grabbed bronze medals finishing in an impressive 3^rd place out of 20 schools. Having lost only 1 of their 9 games, they finished second in their group, playing the runners up from the other pool. Whilst competing for 3^rdand 4^th place, St Hugh’s won their game 6-1, meaning that they had successfully secured bronze medals….a fantastic achievement!

Another well done to our athletics team and rugby squad, who finished in 13^th place and 18^th place respectively. The children showed great team spirit and they did our school proud.  Most importantly of all, the children had a great day out and had great fun playing their sports.
