Sacramental Preparation Information

The children in Year 3 will receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion after Easter.

The children prepare thoroughly for this Sacrament, which is widely celebrated by our school and parish community.

Families of Year 3 children, please come back and visit this page regularly - we will be updating it with information about preparing your child to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communication in Year 3. 

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Congratulations to our Year 3 classes, 3DP, 3G and 3W, who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. 

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is received by baptised Catholic children during Year 3. It takes place at church during a special evening service in Lent.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a chance to say sorry to God and to understand the importance of how to put our wrongs right and grow closer to God by following in His footsteps.

Lenten Prayer Relay

This year our Catholic School Cluster have decided to take part in a Lenten Prayer Relay. The six Catholic schools; All Saints, Holy Family, St Hugh’s, St Joseph’s, St Margaret Ward, Our Lady of Lourdes and St Vincent’s will all visit each other and take part in a special liturgy.

We have decided that this will be for Year 3 pupils as this is their Year of Celebration and will form part of their faith journey.

St Hugh’s Year 3 children went to St. Vincent’s where we took part in a beautiful liturgy with the theme of ‘Called by name’. The children then enjoyed meeting new friends. Their mission was to find out about their own name; its meaning and what made their parents choose it.

This was a lovely way to help us realise that we are all part of one global family.
