4E
Autumn Term
Maths Week
TTRockstars has always been a firm favourite in 4E, so when we had the news that we could officially dress up as rock stars and play our favourite times table game we were over the moon! The children also enjoyed playing some dice based maths games during the week too.
DT- Seasonal Food
During our DT unit on 'Seasonal Food' the children have learnt about the importance of a balanced diet and what fruits are seasonal in the UK. During our final lesson, 4E had the opportunity to bake cupcakes and top them with some British apples.
Science - Where does all that food go?
The children thoroughly our recent science unit on digestion. In particular, our practical activity that mimicked the process of digestion- it definitely made me a little queasy! 4E also worked in groups to use play-doh to create a model of the human digestive system too.
PE - Netball
WOW, we definitely have some future netball stars in 4E! The children have learnt a variety of passes including: the bounce pass, shoulder pass and chest pass. We also looked at the different positions on a netball team as well as playing some defensive and offensive possession games.
RHE - Under Pressure
This half term, the children have learnt about the difference between good pressure and bad pressure. They enjoyed roleplaying scenarios and guessing whether the pressure was good or bad.
PE - Hockey
Thankfully, the weather held out last term and the children we able to enjoy hockey lessons outside. Over the course of six weeks, the children learnt how to: hold a hockey stick, dribble, tackle and pass the ball.
Music- Trumpet Lessons
Over the course of the Autumn term, 4E have enjoyed learning to play the trumpet. The children have also learnt to read different musical pieces. The music teachers were extremely impressed with the children's listening skills and enthusiasm.
Christmas in 4E
Advent is a time of reflection and preparation. In 4E, we wrote our own Advent promises and an act of kindness calendar to remind us every day of the coming of Jesus. The children also enjoyed a visit to Santa and a party to round off a brilliant end to 2021.
